This old video provides us with a wonderful opportunity to see young Joseph Ratzinger's ordination ceremony. The young priest who was to become Pope Benedict XVI was ordained on 29th June 1951. If you pause the video at the precise mark of 4:52-4:55, Fr Ratzinger can be clearly seen.
Not many people realise that back in 1951 life was in black and white and silent. It wasn't until later that we started seeing in colour and started talking to each other. The mother-in-law hasn't stopped talking since!
Thank you Breadgirl. The Faith was also black and white and the silent adoration of Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament was wonderful! Thank God we have a Pope who is guarding these essential core roots of our Faith.
Just received the wonderful cards for St. David Lewis. Thank you so much. I have shared them with one friend and will be sharing them with another friend who is very active in the Knights of Columbus.
I am sorry I have been so tardy in replying to your comments. There have been big changes around here so I am not getting the time I would like to spend with the blog and with you lovely people. Perhaps in a month or two it will be easier so please keep looking in.
Buttercup, thanks for letting me know about the cards. I will be happy to send more if you need them.
Thank you again to each of you for taking the time to leave a comment. I really do appreciate it.
Great video.
