THY WILL BE DONE

This is a lovely song from Sister Miriam Therese Winter and The Medical Mission Sisters. They were in the forefront of the new style of music that became popular in the Catholic Church in the 1960s. This is a very lovely song and appropriate for this Lenten season.

Chorus:
Is there a song to ease our sorrow
to lead us along into tomorrow
to show us how, to live in our now
Father Thy Will be done
Father Thy Will be done

What have you done for my friends
how have you called, how have you lived
how have you died, how did you give
how have you tried

Chorus

What have you done for my Son
have you been called, have you received
have you been right, have you believed
have you been tried

  2. Beautiful! Belated St David's day wishes, by the way. Sorry I missed the actual day, been all over the place, head-wise. I am back to my normal, 'comfortably' insane self now though. Hope you enjoyed the day xx

  4. Hi Pam
Glad I got that right! Folks generally don't want to be mistaken for a nationality other than their own. And St David's Day is really such a grand celebration here in Wales that it is nice to share it with ex-pats. Thanks for visiting and I hope you will do so again. God bless you.

  5. Hi shadowlands
It's great to hear from you and I am really glad that things are looking up for you again. Glad you enjoyed this song. I love their voices. I have been a fan of theirs for years. They have been around a long time and I am delighted they are still making music. God bless you, shadowlands.

  6. Hello Victor
Isn't this group great! I first heard them in the late 1960s and I took to them immediately. I have some of their old records but no tapes or CDs. Fortunately, my husband refused to dispose of his old record player so from time to time, I get out the old records and have a good listen. My good man has also put them all on tape for me. Anyway, I wasn't aware that they were still a going concern so I was very surprised when I found this video. I think it is lovely and I am pleased you like it too. Thanks Victor and God bless you.

  7. Hi Tracy
Thanks for dropping in, it is nice to hear from you. I am delighted you like the video. Don't they have lovely voices? I have been a fan of theirs since I was a girl - and that's not yesterday! I was surprised to find they are still making music but very definitely pleasantly surprised. I hope they will do so for a long time yet. God bless you Tracy.

  8. I've just found your blog and enjoyed your postings to date. I am very interested in St. David Lewis too! Do you know what happened to the silver plate he used to say Mass?

  9. Hi Pedro
It's very nice to hear from you. I am delighted that you are interested in St David Lewis. He is a great saint and deserves to be better known. As to the confiscated plate which the saint used to say Mass, I have decided to do a short post on the stolen plate, at least as far as is known about it. Thanks for visiting and I hope you will do so frequently. God bless you.

  10. Perhaps the best of The Medical Mission Sisters, simply outstanding and melting the heart by sheer beauty of the lyric, melody and rendition. Will be an immortal song!
