I just dropped in to say hello, Breadgirl, and that I hope you doing well! I keep my picture of St. David right next to my Sacred Heart statue :) Did you know that the name David means "beloved"? And St. David was certainly that! Ever since learning about St. David from your blog and the stuff you sent me I ask for his intercession regularly. If it hadn't been for you I might have never heard of him. Thanks and God Bless!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family are well, Breadgirl.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.

ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear from you. Thanks for your comments and for your loyalty. I am not quite up to scratch yet but I am thinking things should have settled down by about September. Until then, please keep looking in.
God bless you both.
BreadGirl, Why not post a PDF of this work on your website, adn allow visitors who sign your guestbook to download it? Jus tthought it may save time, materials, and rigamarole.
ReplyDeleteI attended a JEsuit High School named for Edmund Campion, and a few of my family's relatives who were friars were martyred by being made into human torches on the direct orders of Oliver Cromwell. How did St. David die?
Hello John
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to comment and for your very interesting suggestion. I am not sure if I could post this in PDF. What about copyright, etc? Is that an issue?
I am sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. Things have not been going exactly smoothly for a little while but, please God, all is working out. Now my computer is playing silly games with me but I am managing to get a little done.
As you are probably aware, St David Lewis was also a Jesuit and he was also canonised as one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales, as was St Edmund Campion. David Lewis was martyred at Usk on 27th August 1679. He received the usual sentence of hanging, drawing and quartering. He was hanged and drawn and his body was mutilated but not quartered. His remains were laid to rest in St Mary's Churchyard, Usk.
Thanks John and God bless you.
